The book is a lavishly illustrated story of this typical Welsh estuary & its exotic avian visitors from all over the earth, told & pictured by its garrulous guardian & hoary historian, Howell the Heron! He's usually sat by the bridge...
It [the book, not the heron] was recently presented to HRH Prince Charles [along with a painting, & print, of Red Squirrels], who later enthused about how much he 'enjoyed the book' & 'lovely paintings'.
Although I have contributed illustrations or painted covers for over 70 Books, and many Magazines, Prints, Prints & Cards, Reserve Maps & Leaflets, etc, and contributed Paintings to many top Exhibitions in various countries, this is only the 7th Book I have both written & illustrated.
The other two main books have taken over 20 yrs of research & sketching, the 1st being one of the most wide-ranging & controversial bird books ever, ‘The Design & Origin of Birds’ [DayOne Books UK/USA];
